Can you enumerate some of God’s numerous promises? Well, I bet you can. Here are some of many well-known God’s promises:

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Madami pa. Madami pa akong hindi nabanggit. Yan lang yung ilan sa mga madadalas kong ipaalala sa sarili ko. God is faithful to us with His promises. Lahat ng mga pangako Niya, kapag inangkin mo at dineclare mo… PROMISE! Tutuparin Niya yan kasi totoo Siya sa mga pangako Niya eh. Pero tayo kaya?

Have you ever made a promise to God? Well, I bet you did. At some point of your life, alam kong nasabi mo na sa Kanyang

Lord, promise! Hindi na ako magchi-cheat sa exams namin sa school.
Lord, promise! Hindi na ako sasagot ng pabalang sa magulang ko.
Lord, promise! A-attend na ako lagi ng Sunday services.
Lord, promise! I will not commit any sexual sins anymore.
Lord, promise! I will obey your commands no matter what.

Di ba? Siguro at least one of those, nasabi mo na kay God… or kung wala naman talaga, pero alam ko at alam mo na may nai-promise ka na kay Lord. Pwede bang balikan mo yung mga promises mong yun sa kanya? Alalahanin mo yung mga sinabi mo sa Kanya. Kung hindi mo pa natutupad yang promise mong yan sa Kanya, kapatid, gusto kong malaman mong hanggang ngayon, nag-aantay parin si Lord na tuparin mo yung promise mong yun sa Kanya. Hindi pa huli para maging faithful ka rin sa mga promises mo sa Kanya, kaya go! Hindi ka pulitiko na kalimitan sa mga pangako nila ay napapako. God’s grace is sufficient. It is enough. You can do it.

Kanina I saw a friend’s Facebook status which goes,

“Kaya di nadadag-dagan ang blessings mo kase di ka nag te-testify… - Huh????! Didn’t Jesus said “It is Finished!”?”

and then I posted a comment:

“Hindi man nadadagdagan o nadadagdagan, siguro mas masaya parin mag-testify. Kasi dun po nahahayag yung goodness ni Lord eh. :)”

At ayan yung nagtulak sa akin para mag-blog about blessings. Para sa akin, oo, may point naman si friend ko sa Facebook. Hindi naman yung good works natin ang sukatan para i-bless tayo ni Lord. Ibe-bless niya tayo simply because sobrang mahal Niya tayo. ‘Di ba nga sabi sa Bible, nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God? Naniniwala akong kalakip nung pag-ibig ni Lord na yun yung blessings. At ayun nga, hindi mo masasabi talagang hindi ka na ibe-bless ni Lord kasi hindi mo tine-testify yung good things na ginagawa Niya sa buhay mo. No. It is still God who will decide kung gusto Niya tayong i-bless. Okay?

Tapos ito naman ang sa atin. Hindi naman sa sinasabi kong gawin n’yo ‘to, pero sana naman kung tinatawag nating “blessed” ang sarili natin, pwede bang tambalan natin yan ng salitang “grateful”? Matuto tayong magpasalamat kay Lord sa mga blessing na ibinibigay Niya sa ating through testifying. Masaya namang mag-testify ‘di ba? Kaysa mga problema at reklamo ang iniimik ng bibig mo, let that mouth speak about God’s grace. Mabuti ang Diyos, oo. Pero nasa sa atin parin yun kung “take nalang tayo nang take”… Masama din yun. Dapat ibigay natin ang para sa Panginoon natin. His goodness and love deserves to be shown to other people.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” —Colossians 3:17

“Plain and simple”— that’s one of our characteristics in God’s eyes. He made us plain and simple. He made us with no added features such as extra limbs, third eye, webbed toes, etc.

But you know what? I reall don’t know why have we made ourselves very complicated. Nakakalungkot pero mas trip na talaga nung iba na gumawa ng complications sa buhay. Mas gusto nila yung imik sila nang imik ng kung anu-ano tungkol sa ibang tao kahit pwedeng-pwede namang manahimik nalang sila.

Hay buhayyy. Pwede po bang maging simple lang tayo? Yung tipong walang tumitira ng patalikod? Yung walang silipan? Yung sama-sama nalang sana tayong i-honor si Lord. Yung wala nalang sanang tampuhan at kung anu-anong pag-iisip ng hindi maganda sa isa’t-isa.

Mahirap maging komplikadong tao! Kaya nga po ako, naniniwala parin talaga sa sinasabi nilang “Simplicity is beauty.” Indeed, when you stay plain and simple, you become the best version of yourself. So, keep it simple, guys. Wag kayong OA, OK?!

One episode of Road Trip I’ve watched is about social climbers. About people who:

Tries so hard to fit in.
Do not know how to be contented with what they have.
Chooses not to be true to people just to look so good.

Well, I know for sure that everyone of us have been there— yung tipong gusto nating matanggap ng mga kaibigan natin kaya napipilitan tayong gawin yung mga bagay na ginagawa nila just to show that you belong to the group. But we do not understand that God has designed us uniquely. We don’t have to be “like” them for us to be accepted. We are already accepted… by our Heavenly Father. He accepts every bit of ourselves.

Kaya why don’t we try to be real for Him? ‘Di ba? Kahit for our Heavenly Father nalang… Kasi kung tutuusin, hindi naman na tayo talaga lugi kung gagawin natin ang lahat ng bagay para ma-glorify natin si God eh.

We don’t have to be insecure about anything. Sabi ni Kuya Ru, “You get your security from the fact that you are God’s child.” Sapat nang dahilan yun for you to feel secured. Right?

Be real to yourself. Alam mo kung sino ka talaga— anak ka ng Diyos. Kaya gawan mo ng pabor yung sarili mo and stand for the truth that you are a child of God.

Be real for your friends. I’m sure, gusto ng mga kaibigan mong makilala yung tunay na ikaw. If they fail to accept you as you are, don’t worry. God will provide better friends for you.

Be real for God. Gusto ni God na ang pinapakita mong ikaw ay yung ikaw talaga sa paningin niya. If you think you are worthless, be reminded what the bible speaks about you: “You are fearfully and wonderfully made…” —Psalm 139:14

Be real. Be you! Be what God wants you to be! :)

When we’re faced in a big problem, take note of this: He’s making us stronger.

One song states that, God knows that every trial we face is going to make us stronger. So hang in there. It may look like your world is torn into two pieces, but rest assured that God is always there. He wants only the best for us. Stay strong, brother. God is always with you.

When we face trials and hardships we are always left with two options:

Hate the world and complain - We blame everyone for the bad things that are happening to us. We complain about everything.
Find a reason to be happy - When you can complain about blackouts at night, you still chose to play shadow puppets with your siblings. When you can complain about the hotness of the summer, you chose to buy yourself an ice cream or halo-halo. You choose to see the rose, not its thorns.

It’s up to you if you will be a pessimist or an optimist. Well, as for me, I’d choose to B+.

The girl beside me is Jona. She’s my churchmate and we are not that close… She’s younger than me and she is a jolly girl. Why am I introducing her? Because I want to share how sweet and concerned she is to me.

I’ve been sick for more than three days. Pinilit ko nalang talaga umattend ng prayer meeting nung Thursday. Tapos kanina, masama padin pakiramdam ko. My head, my back and my throat aches. It hurts so baddd. Tapos ayun, nag-devotion kaming mga nasa music team. After nun, Jona asked me if I’m okay. Sabi ko, “Hindi masyado..” Well, as far as I know, she already know that I’m not fine today. Pero alam nyo naman tayong mga pinoy, mahilig magtanong. “Maymaita” lang… May maitanong.

Pero I’m not saying that I didn’t appreciated her effort to ask me if I’m alright. As a matter of fact, I’m glad she asked. But you know what truly warmed my heart? It’s when she said— after she asked me if I’m okay— that… “Kuya, sasama nalang po kita sa prayer.”

I smiled and said to her that I would be very grateful for that. Grabe, ang saya. Feeling ko nun, gumaling na talaga yung sipon, ubo, tonsillitis at lagnat ko e. Basta, natuwa talaga ako sa kanya kanina. I am not expecting her to say that to me, pero she did. Kaya Lord, thank you po sa kanya. Thank you po for encouraging me through her. I love you, Daddy God! :)
